About this event

 

Join Daniela Roveda and the UC Master Gardeners Tree Committee for an engaging and educational pruning workshop at Emerson Avenue Community Garden. This hands-on session will cover the basics of pruning tools, safety, and techniques to help you care for trees effectively.

Participants will have the opportunity to immediately apply what they learn with guidance from experienced Master Gardeners while contributing to the care and maintenance of the garden's fruit trees. This free workshop is open to the public and welcomes volunteers to assist with pruning and cleanup.

When: Saturday, January 18, 2025, from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM
Where: Emerson Avenue Community Garden
Bring: Gloves, and pruning equipment (pruners, loppers, etc.). We provide if needed.

***UPDATE:

  • A discussion about soil & plant contamination in light of the recent fires has been added to the workshop agenda
  • Bring a hat, gloves, sunscreen, protective eye goggles and pruning tools if you have them
  • Please also wear closed toed shoes and full body covering (no shorts or short sleeves) due to expected ash and/or other fire residue
  • An N95 or P100 mask is highly recommended
  • Bring water and personal snacks
